John Juanda is yet another poker superstar that has all but come onto the poker scene and take the game by storm with ease. Even so, it was not always this easy of course, as Juanda had to push through many different things that had the potential to put his career in poker on hold, or even out of the picture all together, yet he still managed to make it work and get his priorities straight. John Juanda was born on July 8, 1971 in Indonesia. He has seen bits and pieces of the gaming world at a young age through his father.

As a young man growing up, Juanda cared for his family very much and took good care of them in any way that he could, which is not difficult to believe, considering his quiet and inviting demeanor at the tables. He was also a very smart and intelligent man, growing up, as well. When he moved to the United States, he started and received his education at Oklahoma State. It was around this time that he began to take a notice to poker and the need to know more about it soon won him over. When Juanda moved on to Seattle University, he would play poker at the end of the week for many hours during the day and literally could not wait to hit the tables yet again so that he could try his luck and skill out as a player in training.

After a few years of practicing and playing poker at casinos, he would then go on to move to California for a while to seek out bigger paying poker tournaments which would be a good start to what was to come. Feeling that poker was something that he could really get into and earn from, he chose to stick with it. In the late 90's, John built up his courage and finally entered his first big poker tournament in the WSOP. In that event, he made 9th place over hundreds of other players which by far is an impressive feat within itself. That would serve as a stepping stone toward what would become a great and lucrative poker career that would not only be good for him, but for his family as well.

Some of Juanda's poker nicknames include JJ and Luckbox. Between 2005 to 2008, Juanda has won many major poker victories and tournaments that will no doubt go down in gaming history and prove what a great player he has built himself into. So far, John Juanda has earned an astounding four WSOP bracelets. Even to this day, John is continuing on building his amazing poker career and showing other players that he is definitely a force that knows exactly what he is doing and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. When all was said and done, John took his poker career to a new level that would change his life for the better and give him the poker star status that he had worked so hard to attain.
